Computer support and protection for contractors Computers kept updated and protected
Windows and Mac computers monitored, updated and protected on both plans, so the machines your office runs on keep working. On Managed IT, your team also gets help with work email and apps on their phones.
Problems we handle
A few of the everyday requests this covers.
- A laptop has been putting off updates for months
- The security software flagged something on the estimating computer
- The shared shop computer keeps running out of disk space
- A new foreman needs work email and the scheduling app on their phone
- Nobody knows what’s installed on the shared office computer
- Someone left, and their laptop needs resetting before it’s handed on
What’s included
Maintenance runs on a schedule on both plans, not only when something breaks.
- A list of your computers
- A current list of your covered computers, who uses each one and what state it’s in.
- Health monitoring
- Warnings about failing drives, full disks and computers that have stopped checking in, reviewed during service hours so problems get caught early.
- Software and security updates
- Windows, Mac and approved app updates scheduled and checked, instead of whenever someone gets around to it.
- Computer protection
- Security software set up and kept running on every covered computer. Monitoring runs around the clock, and we follow up on real problems during support hours. How security monitoring works
- Preventative maintenance
- The standard fixes that come with the maintenance, like a stuck update or a security tool that stopped reporting, handled rather than just forwarded to you.
- Phone and app helpManaged IT
- Work email, sign-in and approved work apps on supported phones and tablets, company or personal. It comes with each person, so nobody is charged twice for checking email on their phone.
- Shared computers
- A shared office or shop computer counts once as a device. The people using it are still counted as people.
Every covered computer, start to finish
Each covered computer is looked after from the day it’s set up to the day it’s handed on or retired.
Maintenance runs on both plans. Setting up, reassigning or retiring a computer is routine support on Managed IT, and $200 an hour on Essential Care.
Phone help is included. Phone management is quoted.
Helping someone with work email on their phone is different from managing the phone itself, which needs its own device list, tools and permissions.
| Coverage | Phone and app helpManaged IT | Full phone managementQuoted separately |
|---|---|---|
| Help with work email, sign-in and approved apps | Yes | Yes |
| Phone set up under central control | No | Yes |
| Settings and apps pushed to the device | No | Yes |
| Remote lock or wipe, when you authorize it | No | Yes |
Work accounts on a personal phone are still company accounts. When someone leaves, their work access is removed, whoever owns the phone.
How it works on each plan
Maintained and protected
Essential Care
$299 a month for 1 person and 1 computer, or $399 in total for up to 2 people and 2 computers. Maintenance, protection and backup are included. Technical help is $200 an hour, approved by you before billable work starts.
Covered computers get monitoring, updates, protection and routine maintenance every month.
Help with a computer problem, or with work email and apps on a phone, is $200 an hour, approved by you first.

- Replacing a fleet of aging computers
- Setting up full phone and tablet management
- Setting up or changing an office network or server
- Rolling out new printers across the office
Common questions
Do you support Macs?
Yes. Windows and Mac computers, plus phone and app help on iPhone, iPad and Android. We check operating system versions during onboarding, and flag anything too old to keep secure.
Will updates interrupt our work?
We agree an update schedule with you during onboarding, set around the hours your office is busiest. Restarts are timed to avoid interrupting work where possible, though an urgent security fix may need one sooner.
Do you manage phones and tablets?
Not as part of either plan. Managed IT includes help with work email, sign-in and approved apps on supported phones and tablets, company or personal. Full management, like putting phones under central control, locking down settings, pushing apps or remote wipe, needs its own device list, tools and permissions, so it’s quoted separately.
What counts as a computer?
Desktops and laptops count the same, including shared shop computers and secondary laptops that we look after. A tablet running a full desktop operating system counts as a computer. Monitors, keyboards and printers don’t, and basic remote printer troubleshooting doesn’t add a computer charge. Servers and network equipment are scoped separately.
Do we have to buy devices through you?
No. You buy your own computers, phones and tablets, and they stay yours. Tell us before you buy and we’ll flag anything that would be hard to support.
What if a device can’t be fixed remotely?
Hardware that needs hands-on repair goes to a local repair shop or the manufacturer’s warranty service. On-site visits in the Seattle area can be quoted separately.
Will monitoring catch every hardware problem?
No. It catches the warning signs a computer reports, like a drive starting to fail or a disk filling up, but some failures happen without warning. That’s why important files belong in backed-up cloud storage rather than on one computer.
Are the files on managed computers backed up?
Not automatically. Maintenance keeps a computer updated and protected, but doesn’t copy its files. Backup covers the business data listed in your coverage plan, usually email and cloud files. Files stored only on a computer, or a full image of it, need a separately scoped backup.
