Included on both plans Security and backup for contractors
Both plans come with the same baseline: protected, monitored computers, multi-factor sign-in on your business accounts, and backup of the business data your plan covers, like the email and cloud files where your estimates, invoices and job photos live.

The baseline on every plan
These keep running every month on both plans. Hands-on help is included on Managed IT, and $200 an hour on Essential Care.
Protection on every covered computer
Security software and supported updates on each covered Windows or Mac computer, set up and kept running, with monitoring around the clock.
Account and login security
Multi-factor sign-in protection: a second step to sign in, like an app prompt, set up during onboarding on supported Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace business accounts. A stolen password on its own isn’t enough to get in.
Business data backup
The business data listed in your coverage plan, usually business email and cloud files, backed up separately from Microsoft or Google, checked and recovery-tested.
No setup can promise you’ll never be hacked. The baseline makes the common attacks much harder, and means there’s a backup to restore from.
What’s backed up, and what isn’t
Backup coverage is agreed during onboarding and listed in your service plan, like the shared drive where estimates and job photos are kept. If you’re not sure where your files live, that’s when we find out and write it down.
Usually in the plan
- Business mailboxes for the covered accounts, including calendars and contacts
- OneDrive or Google Drive files for the covered accounts
- The SharePoint sites or Google shared drives listed during onboarding
Covered data stays covered whichever device it came from. Job photos uploaded to a covered folder from a phone are backed up. Photos left only in the phone’s camera roll aren’t.
Kept separately from Microsoft or Google, checked for failures, and test-restored on a regular schedule.
Not part of the standard backup
- Files stored only on a computer
- Photos and files stored only on a phone, and full-phone backups
- Personal email and personal cloud accounts
- Microsoft Teams chat history
- Data inside your job software, like JobTread, Buildertrend or Jobber, which those companies hold
- Accounts and shared locations that aren’t on the onboarding list
- Servers and network storage (NAS)
- A complete image of a computer
Backup for files on computers can be set up as a separately scoped arrangement.
Who does what
Automated monitoring runs around the clock. Ghostworx support responds during support hours, so it doesn’t mean a person is watching all night. After-hours response isn’t included or guaranteed.
- Security monitoring serviceAround the clock
- Monitors covered computers for threats. Which service your plan uses, and the actions it takes on its own, are confirmed in your quote.
- Ghostworx supportDuring support hours
- Follows up on real alerts and anything suspicious you report, tells you what needs your attention, coordinates with the security provider and helps with next steps. Support hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Pacific, excluding holidays.
- Substantial recoveryScoped when needed
- If a security problem means rebuilding computers or extensive cleanup, that work is scoped and quoted separately before it starts.
How security help is covered
It depends on the work involved, not on who spotted the problem. A suspicious email you report is handled the same way as an alert the software raises.
Part of the baseline
Both plans. Never billed.
- Monitoring, backup checks and restore tests
- Reviewing alerts, and suspicious emails or links you report
- Telling you what we found and what to do next
- Coordinating with the security provider
Hands-on help
$200 an hour on Essential Care, approved first. Included on Managed IT.
- Account troubleshooting after a bad click, like resetting a password and checking for misuse
- Restores you ask for
- Fixing a setting an alert turns up on a single computer or account
Quoted separately
Both plans, scoped and priced first.
- Cleanup, rebuilding or recovery after a major security problem
- Backup for files stored on computers
- Backup for servers and network storage
- Security cleanup when onboarding uncovers bigger problems
When you need something back
A deleted estimate, an overwritten invoice spreadsheet or a folder of job photos that went missing. We can only restore versions the backup holds, so tell us as soon as you notice.
- Tell us what’s missing and roughly when it was last right, by text, email or phone.
- We find the backed-up versions available and confirm with you which one to restore, and where: back in place, or somewhere separate so nothing current is overwritten.
- We restore it, you check it’s right, and it’s noted in your monthly summary.
How it works on each plan

Essential Care

The full security and backup baseline runs every month for your covered computers and accounts.
Hands-on help, like restores you ask for or account troubleshooting after a bad click, is $200 an hour, approved by you first. Reviewing alerts and telling you what we found is never billed.
Support included
Managed IT
From $699 a month for up to 2 computer users and 2 computers, with routine remote support included during support hours. Additional computer users are $175 a month, each covering one computer. Mobile-only team members are $50 and extra computers $80 a month.

On both plans, the monitoring, security and backup tools are covered by your Ghostworx fee.
Compare Plans and PricesCommon questions
Is all of our business data backed up?
Only what your coverage plan lists. That’s agreed during onboarding: usually business mailboxes and OneDrive or Google Drive files for covered people, plus the shared locations you name. It doesn’t automatically include every file, application, phone, server or a full image of a computer. Anything more is scoped and quoted before it’s added.
Is someone watching around the clock?
A security monitoring service watches covered computers around the clock. Which service your plan uses, and what it does on its own when it finds something, is confirmed in your quote. Ghostworx support responds during support hours, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Pacific, excluding holidays.
How often are backups taken, and how long are versions kept?
It depends on the backup service used for your accounts. Your quote states how often backups run and how long versions are kept, so you know how far back a restore can reach.
How long does a restore take?
A single email or file is usually straightforward once we’ve confirmed the right version, and it’s handled during support hours. Larger restores, like a whole mailbox or shared drive, depend on how much data there is, and we’ll tell you what to expect before we start.
What if someone clicks a bad link or enters their password on a fake page?
Tell us as soon as you can. Reviewing what happened is part of the baseline. Hands-on fixes, like resetting the password and checking the account for misuse, are $200 an hour on Essential Care, approved by you first, and included on Managed IT. If it turns into a major security problem, recovery is quoted separately.
Does this guarantee we won’t get hacked?
No setup can promise that. The baseline makes the most common attacks much harder and means there’s a backup to restore from. When we find gaps outside the baseline, we tell you and explain the options.
